Atlas Copco to Attend WEFTEC 2014

/

From Sep. 27-Oct.1, we’ll be attending WEFTEC 2014, the Water Environment Federation’s Annual Technical Exhibition and Conference in New Orleans. WEFTEC offers thousands of water quality professionals from around the world the latest water quality education and training. Plus, the exhibition provides unparalleled access to the field’s most cutting-edge technologies and services.

The Atlas Copco exhibit will be located at booth No. 7615, and representatives will be available to discuss the features and benefits of our wide range of low pressure blowers for the wastewater industry.

  • The ZS range of oil-free screw blowers is up to 40% more energy efficient than a tri-lobe blower and complies with ISO 8573-1 Class Zero certification for 100% oil-free air, completely eliminating the risk of oil contamination.
  • The ZB range of centrifugal air blowers guarantees a continuous, highly reliable, energy-efficient and 100% oil-free air supply and is also certified according to ISO 8573-1. The unique bearing design and turbo-compression system provides the highest air volume at the lowest energy consumption.
  • The ZM range of multistage centrifugal blowers offers flow capacities up to 40,000 cfm and pressures up to 24 psig (1.6 bar) and can be custom-engineered for your specific application.

Hospitality Event Celebrates Five Years of Energy Efficient Blower Technology

Since the launch of the ZS range in 2009, and through innovations in blower technology and investments in Houston Service Industries (HSi) and their range of energy efficient high-speed turbo blowers, Atlas Copco now carries the largest range of blower technologies in the market. Our comprehensive blower technology offering includes equipment for pressures from 300 mbar to 1,200 mbar and flows from as low as 50 CFM extending up to 5000 CFM.

Stop by the Atlas Copco booth on Tuesday, Sep. 30 from 3-5 p.m. to celebrate five years of production of the ZS range. Beverages and snacks will be provided.

Latest Technologies Reduce Energy Costs by 30%

In the wastewater treatment process, millions of bacteria feed on organic waste, breaking it down into carbon dioxide, nitrogen and water. Because these bacteria require oxygen as part of this process, large quantities of air are blown into aeration tanks. Digester gas, a byproduct of the process, can also be upgraded and compressed to generate electricity. Because air and gas blowers typically represent up to 70% of the total electricity costs at water treatment facilities, many facilities that incorporate the latest technologies are able to reduce these costs by an average of 30%.

In addition to wastewater treatment, other industries with blower applications that can benefit from the latest energy saving technologies include pneumatic conveying, power generation, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, pulp and paper, textiles, cement and general manufacturing.
