At Atlas Copco, we’re always looking for ways to be better. And, while we’re proud of our successes, that doesn’t mean we’re content with where we are. And neither should you. With that, here are five ways to reduce your facility’s environmental impact.
Reduce energy consumption – We’ve talked before about ways to reduce energy consumption in your facility, either through the incorporation of variable speed drive compressors or making sure your system runs as efficiently as possible with periodic compressed air system audits. Waste adds up. But it can also be as simple as turning off the light in a room that isn’t in use. We have committed to decrease the energy consumption in our products and solutions by 20 percent by 2020. This doesn’t happen without a pledge to get better.
Take aim at your carbon footprint – We’ve undertaken a number of initiatives to reduce energy consumption, from upgrading to modern lighting and ventilation equipment to switching to more environmentally friendly energy sources such as geothermal heating, wind and solar energy. We also work with new companies that join the Atlas Copco team to help them adapt to our industry-leading sustainability policies and business practices. This way, together we can partner to continually provide our customers with highly ethical, environmental and social standards.
Reduce material use – Reduce, reuse, recycle. Start today if you haven’t already.
Upgrade aging equipment – Capital purchases may appear initially daunting for annual budgets and bottom lines, but more often than not upgrading equipment can yield savings that provide a quick return on investment. Our customers have proudly told stories of the ways we have worked with them – and their utility providers – to realize the greatest savings possible when they upgrade their facilities. I bet we can do the same for you.
Never stop innovating – Complacency breeds contempt, as the saying goes, and your business should not fall into the same trap. Companies that look for ways to improve upon past successes, rather than rest on them, are the ones that are always moving ahead. At Atlas Copco, we’re constantly vigilant for ways to develop new products and provide services that not only help our customers save money, through improved energy efficiency and longer product life cycles.
That’s what we think. What are you doing to help reduce your facility’s environmental impact?
