Atlas Copco to Exhibit at 2018 Best Practices EXPO & Conference

/

Atlas Copco is proud to be a Diamond Sponsor at the inaugural Best Practices EXPO & Conference in Chicago, IL. From Sept. 17-19, Atlas Copco’s Compressor and Vacuum Technique divisions will be teaming up to showcase the GA VSD+ compressor, GHS VSD+ vacuum pump, DZS 150V vacuum pump, AIRnet piping and the Optimizer 4.0. Attendees are invited to stop by booth 601 to see how these pieces of equipment optimize production and improve energy efficiency.

The three-day conference is divided into four tracks –

  1. Compressed air supply strategies
  2. Compressed air demand reduction
  3. Blower and vacuum optimizations
  4. Cooling systems and energy management

Eight of Atlas Copco’s product experts will be at the show to present on topics within these four tracks. Please note that a few presentations within these four tracks do occur simultaneously in different locations.

Monday, Sept. 17

  • 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. – John Conover, national sales manager for blower and low pressure compressors, will present on the fundamentals of different aeration blower techniques. Conover has over 20 years of experience with Atlas Copco technologies ranging from oil-free compressors to low pressure blowers.
  • 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. – Frank Moskowitz, senior auditor, will cover the 14 proven compressed air treasure hunt projects. Moskowitz has more than 30 years of experience in plant engineering and specializes in compressed air systems, vacuum systems, contaminate removal, system design and energy management. He has also served on the technical committee for air compressors with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for eight years.
  • 2:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. – Greg Marciniak, business development manager for the Industrial Vacuum Division, will present on setpoint control for Variable Speed Drive (VSD) versus fixed speed in varying demand applications. Marciniak has worked as a product designer, engineer and manager for vacuum and blower systems since 1993.

Tuesday, Sept. 18

  • 9:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. – Walter See, product marketing manager for the Industrial Vacuum Division, will review pipe sizing, storage and valve considerations in centralized vacuum system design. See has worked as a systems engineer within the vacuum industry since 2010.
  • 2:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. – Moskowitz will present on storage sizing for system controls, sizing for events, placement in the system and wet/dry storage.
  • 2:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. – Deepak Vetal, national sales manager for industrial blowers and low pressure blowers, will present in a different track on design considerations for blowers in food and beverage applications. Vetal has worked with Atlas Copco since 2004, specializing in various products including oil-free compressors, industrial blowers and low pressure compressors.

Wednesday, Sept. 19

  • 8:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. – See will present on ACFM, SCFM, Boyle’s Law and other vacuum fundamentals.
  • 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. – Chris Dominick, national account manager for the Compressor Technique Service (CTS), will present on maintenance tips and effects for oil-free screw compressors. Dominick has worked with Atlas Copco since 2003 as a service technician, sales manager and national account manager.
  • 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. – Travis McGarrah, product marketing manager for blowers and low pressure compressors, will present in a different track on the differences between SCFM, CFM, ACFM and ICFM. McGarrah has been a mechanical engineer for blower technologies since 2012.
