Over the past several weeks, we featured “top products” chosen by some of our product marketing managers. The final installment in the series comes from John Senay, product marketing manager for piston and oil injected screw compressors < 30kW. Senay writes:
“My favorite Atlas Copco product line is the LE, LF and LT piston air compressors or, as I like to call them, the LEFT pistons. These units are a unique industrial product for the piston market and specifically target the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) business.
Most pistons are belt driven and require a large footprint, creating a space issue with tight OEM installations. The LEFT pistons are direct drive compressors and can be hooked right to a product that needs air, eliminating some of the space issues as well as efficiency losses common with belt drive pistons. LEFT products are available with a hydraulic motor and in different configurations such as block, tank mount, powerpack and basemount.
The space and energy-saving features, plus a wide array of configurations, make the LEFT pistons the first choice for OEMs and my favorite Atlas Copco product.”
