The GHS VSD+ Vacuum from Atlas Copco was recognized this week for innovative contributions in product development by Plant Engineering with the silver award in the magazine’s 2015 Product of the Year competition.

The 28th annual Plant Engineering Product of the Year competition is a celebration of all that is new and innovative in product development. It is also a time to evaluate your own needs within the plant to see what areas of your operation need improvement. Chances are, the solutions are among the winning products.

You can read all about the GHS VSD+ in a special section of the magazine’s website; award-winning products like this vacuum compressor are also featured in the April 2016 print edition.

The GHS VSD+ Vacuum boasts a number of innovative features and benefits, including:

  1. Energy savings of around 50 percent – A state-of-the-art technology, variable speed drive (VSD) and an innovative inlet control valve combine to produce a leap forward in efficiency to dramatically reduce lifecycle costs;
  2. Significantly better performance against benchmarked oil-sealed and dry vane vacuum pumps;
  3. Quiet operation – Noise levels are far below that of comparable technologies;
  4. Sustainable productivity due to built-in efficiency – Conforms to energy management and environmental commitments according to ISO 50001/14001;
  5. Reduced environmental impact due to ultra-high oil retention at all operating pressures – from ultimate pressure to atmospheric pressure.
