John Conover, an expert on blowers and low-pressure compressors for Atlas Copco, is a speaker during this month’s Expert Webinar Series hosted by Compressed Air Best Practices on Thursday, May 26.

Conover’s presentation, titled “Overview of Magnetic Bearing High-Speed Centrifugal and VSD Rotary Screw Blowers Applied to Wastewater Treatment Process Operations,” will review and compare the two technologies as applied to plant biological loading.

The keynote lecture will be given by Tom Jenkins, president of JenTech Inc. and will discuss calculating aeration flow and pressure requirements for wastewater treatment plants. Wastewater treatment facilities consume $3 billion of power per year – approximately 3 percent of total power usage in the United States. These plants utilize blowers that can take up almost 70 percent of the facility’s energy use. The webinar will address why air, flow and pressure are critical components for a successful system in which process demands frequently fluctuate.

The webinar will take place on May 26 at 2pm EDT. For more information on the webinar as well as a list of upcoming webinars, click here. Reserve your spot by registering today.
