That’s why today is a special day for us, as today we’re 140 days away from celebrating Atlas Copco’s 140 years of sustainable, profitable growth. Anniversaries are special for a number of reasons. They celebrate perseverance. They honor resolution and they mark persistence. On February 21, 1873, Eduard Franckel established a locomotive manufacturer in Sweden and called his new company Atlas. Not long after, following the launch of a revolutionary one-man rock-drilling machine that defined the Swedish Method of drilling, the market opened and helped foster the growth of what we all know as Atlas Copco, a company that today operates companies in 90 countries and services customers around the globe in about 180 countries. Not many other companies can say the same thing.
So while we prepare to celebrate this momentous occasion, we hope you’ll stay tuned for more information for the various ways we’ll mark this special day in our history – a history that wouldn’t be possible without all of our customers. On to the next 140…
